About Us

We are a small family business located in San Diego, California. We got our start in 2014 when we ran out of options for keeping our Siamese cat near us when we were outside in the yard. After letting her out in the bushes in the front yard where we could supervisor her she ended up chasing after the neighborhood cats with me running behind her. She had no fear and one day chased a neighbor's dog.  Living on a canyon, we were concerned if she got away she would be another missing pet picture on a lamp post poster and a victim of the coyotes or road traffic. We knew there had to be a solution that would allow us to safely let her outside while still keeping her confined. We tried the upside down laundry basket as a kennel and a cat harness, but they failed miserably. After shopping around and doing some research, we came to the conclusion that we would have to create our own controlled environment. Something that would allow her to see the birds and outdoor activity while stopping her from running off or coming upon a dangerous snake or animal in our yard. 

After much thought, many designs, and months spent going back and forth with various manufacturers, we finally came up with a solution that evolved into The Cat House Outdoor Pet Enclosure.  We slowly introduced the idea to her inside and slowly moved it closer to the door and eventually outside. She took to it pretty fast when she realized she got to go outside. She would spend an hour or so on the shady front porch with a 360-degree view and enjoyed stretching out for her naps in the fresh air.  Over the weeks several passing cars stopped by and asked where we purchased The Cat House so we adapted it to sell and began to offer it online to other pet owners facing the same predicament. We recently upgraded The Cat House further to a stronger PVC coated mesh and materials along with increasing the height so it clears a cat's sensitive ears.
